Can someone check this French for me and correct it - does it sound awkward or is it okay to write in a thank you card? It took me an embarrasingly long time to write it with my limited French and a bad memory for grammar.


Merci beaucoup de visiter notre jardin d'enfants. Les enfants ont eu l'amusement avec vous, et ont appris tellement au de la France.

(Thank you very much for visiting our kindergarten. The children had fun with you and learned so much about France).

Moi Francais is rusty but should this be "visite" not "visiter"? The rest seems tres bien.

personally, to pep it up, i'd say:

Je vous remerci pour avoir visiter notre maternelle.
(proper grammar)

Les enfants se sont amuses, (putting the "accent aigue" (/), on the "e" in amuses, and putting an "s" on the end for plural "enfants")

et ils ont appris tellement sure le sujet de La France.

My french is Quebec french, so it might be totally off (if you're looking to thank someone from France) but I would say this:

merci beaucoup d'avoir visite ("accent aigu") notre maternelle. Les enfants se sont amuse (thats an e "accent aigu") avec vous et ont appris tellement sur la France.

"(ils) ont bien s'amuse" somehow reminds me of "they did well amusing themselves". =] (no offense kermo) so I would try a different variation on that.

canuck sounds like he's on the money. my french is a bit rusty. but wouldn't you put an "s" on the end of "amuse"? i seem to remember carrying over the plural to the verb.
