What seemed just as bad were the scenes they showed on BBC World today.
First: a helicopter landing, literally throwing out a few bags of supplies for the people to scramble for, before hurriedly taking off again.
Next, a few miles away, a whole team of armed cops with a "shoot to kill" order, all waiting outside a convenience store for ONE looter inside.
Two words: MANPOWER and PRIORITIES. |

And that reporting rules say that reporters can only report what they saw. The top one the reporter saw the guy doing the looting in the store, the bottom one a different guy saw them outside the store. |

well, if the reporter saw him looting why didn't he get his camera person to shoot the alleged act of looting in progress to back up his accusations instead of waiting until the man was in the water? or, why didn't he report the scene as 'perhaps' or 'i'm assuming he's looting...' instead of using an after the fact picture which shows no crime in progress to support his claim of 'looting.' why? |

I wonder how many poor people walking through that much water to find something you want and take it home call it looting vs some rich guy sitting on his sofa in Washington or elsewhere going damm thats my store or my friends store they're at! calling it looting.
I am not there, I know looting goes on but hows this for a thought. You ever walked home with a 2 dozen bottle carton of beer on your shoulder? Now try doing that in 4 feet of water, thats an enterprising person, that is.
They sure aren't there because they have a 10 million dollar bank account and a cell phone. Looting is always in the eye of the beholder, especially now. |

same with clothing.
i mean...should ppl not be able to use some tampons cuz they took it from a store during a disaster?
it's not like they are going to rinse the stuff off and sell it back anyways.
it's earmarked for the dump. |

Excellent points.
Everything in those stores will either be "looted" and used by poor people, or trashed. The city will be razed, for the most part. Do you think the business owners will come back for the bits, or take the insurance check and smile? |

but for those LOOTING Nikes, jewelry, etc....shoot the motherf*s...stealing is stealing
this is a perfect example of the black "hip hop" culture in America..the lack of morals, the wanton violence, the predatory sex...shoot the bastards, regardless of color....line 'em up and shoot 'em |

Including the guy who stole a bus and used it to drive 70 people out of the city to safety? |
