Thankfully it will weaken a bit before it gets close. It is still far away, so it might change course, but the latest info is that it will held to Japan.

This afternoon on weatherunderground:
http://www.weatherunderground.com/tropical/tracking/wp200514_model.html
It looks like it is possible for some bad weather for Cholla province, but the odds look like it may go south towards China.
Of course, unless it goes east. . .
As we (those of us from hurricane country) know, these things can change hourly. |

| My co-worker heard it would hit Tuesday. I have my fingers crossed that it will blow in cooler, drier air. I'm wilting in this humidity. The air con in one of my classes was broken on Friday afternoon. It was hard to be peppy and entertaining while dripping sweat off my nose on my first day on the new job. |

Like I said, you never know.
I missed Maitai, or whatever the name was, a couple of years ago. This one looks like it could also make it as far as Daegu. But the southern parts of the country are really vulnerable. We could have our own disaster to deal with there. |

I was in Gangeung when Maemi hit 2 years ago. We only caught the outer edge of it and that scared the snot out of me.
Now I'm in Gwangju. Should I be worried? |

| That chart shows it coming over Gyeongju way. Well here's fingers crossed. Last year we had a nice rain shower, I was drenched by the time I came to work, first time I experienced rain coming sideways as well as straight down and oh well you get the picture. |

I wouldn't unless the path shifts radically to the left (west) for Gwangju to get nailed badly the center would have to pass about 50-100 KM to the west of Gwangju.
The Joint Typhoon warning center is also a good site for info their forecasts seem pretty accurate |
