I wasn't going to renew my contract because I was going to go to a Public School in Seoul. My current Principal really wanted me to stay on and kept asking me and asking me so I worked out an agreement with my middle man/boss guy to extend for 6 months with some handsome raises.
Now, I had to have a full medical taken again for the Public School and the 32,000 was taken off of my last cheque. I had to have my visa renewed and that 30,000 was also taken off my cheque. I was nagged and nagged to teach an afterschool program at another school and I continually said no to it. I finally gave in when they offered too much money to not refuse. This workplace has been added to my visa and that was 60,000 which was also deducted from my chque. Is this really all my responsibilty? |

Someone has to be responsible for those "handsome raises." Why not find ways to make the employee pay for some of the "handsome raises?" |

Medical: I'm pretty sure you should pay that. 32,000 is about the same as mine.
Visa: I paid for mine.
You get paid by check? Nice. |

if you are on an E2 visa your sponser, ie your school has to pay for it. If you have an F2 you have to pay. OR so I have been told. |

I think it depends on the kind of arrangement you have with the school. When I worked for my friend, she agreed to pay my work permit cost, which was 20,000 (I think)... |

paying for the medical and visa probably are your responsibility, but if you were pressured into working the second gig, they should pay for the addition to the visa. |
