my supposedly rock-solid antec true 380 is currently dying a slow painful death, so i'm looking to buy a new ps at yongsan. does anyone have any recommendations on a specific brand and model? or have had experience with brands like A-ONE, Evertop, or Sparkle?
prices for foreign brands like antec, enermax, and seasonic are just ridiculous. they cost more than their US retail prices! so, if you know of any good korean makes in the 400W - 500W range that have a stable 12V rail, low ripple, high efficiency, low noise, etc...please let me know! |

Evertop are pretty good, but don't trust the numbers they list as maximum amperage for the various voltage rails, as they are the theoretical maximum numbers for the rail. They don't seem to publish the actual maximum figures for multiple rail usage. I've had no problems with their 500W power supplies except that they're not as quiet as I'd hoped.
Simbadda 450W power supplies work well.
A-One work well as long as you don't push them to the edge.
Sparkle are pretty good, albeit a little pricey. I'll be buying a 550W power supply for my next system: 103,000 is expensive, but it's good quality. And for a DFI LANparty Ultra-D it's on the recommended list.
