Okay.. I have a little situation!

My second job that I just received wants to direct deposit and tax my earnings!

So.. now what do I do? Should I take the risk and let them direct deposit and all of that? Its a very reputable job.. through a university.

I don't think my current employer would agree because they have nothing to gain.

So will immigration very highly likely see the paperwork and all the rest? Its a great 2nd job and not many hours.. but great pay.

What do the ESL Wizards think? (I think most will say NO WAY!) But it is great pay and very little work. I'd hate to turn it down.

Is immigration still quite tough on cracking down on this stuff?

Don't do it. Why provide proof for immigration to use in the unlikely event you get caught. It it simple. Cash

I had a similar situaiton a few years ago - gave out the info so I could at least play innocent. Turns out then - not sure about now - that the left hand didn't bother talking to the right hand. I suspect that is still true. I think, at the time, that many employers were withholding, but keeping for themselves, the taxes - this could be going on where you are too.

Well, life is a crapshoot isn't it?

i'd take the job but ask for cash payment. you're running the risk of getting busted if you don't get permission from your current employer though. how is your director at your current job? do you think he'd go for it or is he kind of a bastard?
if you can pull of cash payment and are willing to risk deportation if your caught then go for it. but i heard that immigration is seriously coming down on under the table/ privates. so weigh the risks out and decide... i'd still do it.

just be honest to the new director..
say sorry If I work for you its illegal you know?.. unless I get permission fromimmigration and my current employer then we can all arrange the proper materials, paperwork needed etc...

I dont want to risk my fate in your hands this way sorry..
other wise I suggest you just may me cash weekly or monthly and lets leave it like that!

be direct, be bold ! dont worry you wont lose the position, he needs you!

Being an illegal hiring doesn't negate the requirement that a person pay taxes on the income earned. Rememeber, Al Capone didn't go to jail for murdering people but for tax fraud.

part of the problem is that the 2nd school is actually a group of phd students who want a teacher and their university department is paying the bill.

so that means they probably absolutely have to have all of my information so the school can write it off as expenses or something or another.

just curious, whats the procedure if i want my first school to give permission? what does each party have to do to make it happen (if both are willing?) - which i'm not too sure if i want to ask my contract school about it yet.

One additional idea! What do you guys think?

They want a COPY of my passport and bank book statement! So what if I photocopy myself with a different picture and change the numbers and my name just a little bit? would that be worth it?

I also have the question regarding possibly setting up another bank account.. hmm.. still problematic, right?

Trust me on this - there is a BIG difference between teaching illegally and FRAUDulently changing documents. What you suggest is the very definition of FRAUD and you will have a good chance of doing time bud. Most countries don't like people who do such things - for obvious reasons - and especially in today's security situation. So, unless you want to share a room with someone who calls you sweetheart - I'd give this idea a pass.

Don't be a fool, the money ain't worth it.
