|
|
Hi guys
Ive been to Incheon park one time, the first weekend here. Despite the typical concrete heavy vibe u get from all parks here it is still a lovely place and I wanna head back there. First time my co-teacher drove. Now I want to go by bus. Is this possible?
Oh and i'm thinking of doing that for the day Chuseok weekend. Bad idea?
Failing that are the shops in Seoul open over Chuseok?
Ta!

Inchon park?
Do you mean Jayu park?
Or Inchon Grand Park?
Or the 'amusement' park at Songdo?
Or Subong park?
Jayu is the one with the MacArthur statue... subway/train is easier than bus- get off at Inchon or Donginchon stations and keep walking in the direction of UP.
I recommend checking out the hill above the Inchon Landing Memorial in yeonsu-dong/Songdo (not sure which one it's officially in), it has a nice view on clear days. |

Blunder, you are in luck!
Incheon municiple govt now has what appears to be a pretty decent website!
http://www.incheon.go.kr/inpia/en/index.html
Look for the "Destinations of Incheon" sidebar and click on the "Parks & Resorts" and it gives great info on all the parks I mentioned and more, including how to get to them.
For bus info, click on the "Living in Incheon" and then "transportation" from the top toolbar drop down menu.
There's even a messageboard there- go to "Q&A". |

If it's Incheon Grand Park just right down the name in Hanguel and get a taxi from Munhak or Incheon Bus Terminal.
It's not such a bad place, but on any holiday or any day, really, after about 2:00pm it's just swarming. I used to go jogging there every second day. Talk about the waygook treatment. |

Yep Incheon Grand Park. I'm not going there today, as waking this morning I found myself covered in blisters from paintballing yesterday, but if its only 2k won i might start jogging there once in a while, sure beats the gym.
A friend of mine said their is a small zoo in incheon which may be free. Anyone know nething about it? |

Off to the side by where the bike hire is, there's also a jogging trail that leads back up through Mansoodong, and will take you all the way to Guwoldong, from where you can on the subway, if you're up for a longer jog. |

Um, there used to be a giant birdcage in Jeyu park with all sorts of pheasants, peacocks, other fowl... and some sort cages/fenced off things next to them with some bunnies and stuff... I don't know if that's still there, but if it is and your friend is Korean and from Incheon that may very well fit his/her conception of a 'small zoo'... |

The hill in question is called Cheon-young San, and it has some decent walks up from Songdo back down the other side into Yeonsu. Some temples dotted around the hill are worthwhile checking out. |
