You don't realize how nice Canadian Tire is until you don't have one. Even when living in Seattle, I could never find something there that offered that one stop convenience of a single store that encompassed automotive, hardware, a garden center, home products, and electronics...
And don't forget that Canadian Tire money. Hell once I bought an air conditioner at Canadian Tire just to get about $20 of Canadian tire money. I remember back during the 1991 recession, a lot of stores and coffee shops started to take Canadian Tire money at about 70% face value for purchases. Currency these days isn't backed by gold but by the idea that you can exchange it for tangible goods and services. What's more tangible than soap and cement nails?
