Hello Healthy Cereal Eaters,

Anyone know where to find some healthy granola cereal. All I can find so far is Post and Kelloggs. Actually the Post and Kelloggs look a little healthier here than in other countries; but I would still like something a little more natural. I read that mice fed vitamins and kelloggs cereal will die in one week but mice fed only vitamins will live one month.

Thanks,
Drew

About that recipe- way way too much honey, syrup and oil! No wonder granola eaters get fat.

Stick to the nuts, oats and wheat germ, and maybe some raisins. Use only enough oil and sweeteners to very lightly coat the grains and nuts. The rest of the sugar, fat and sugar concentrated dried fruits are so not necessary. I think the less fat, less sugary variety is the same as European meusli. Mine looks like the meusli I see in groceries (elsewhere, of course) and get off the menu in Thailand/

Hannam Market in Seoul has old fashioned rolled oats, at least it did the last time I was there.

Then search for the thread Mith started on making your own yoghurt. That and some meusli and maybe a little fresh fruit is a grand breakfast.

You can order rolled oats and an lot of other grains from Bob's Red Mill.

Costco sells Go Lean Crunch. It's kind-of-sort-of granola like. Crunchy clusters that don't turn to mush when you add your liquid of choice.

I KNOW it's not real granola, but it's about the only non-flake cereal around.

You can get oatmeal at http://www.yoricome.com or at most of the black/grey market shops for about 10-11,000 won for a large tub.

I meant real oatmeal- not the Quaker kind. I've got that in my cupboard, but it's too fine for granola really.

That's the kind I got at Hannam in the spring. I brought back a couple of kilo from Thailand a few weeks ago. I brought back a ton of stuff from Thailand- beans, oats, etc.

Yes Wink

It is my pride and joy! I bake everything, fresh cinn. rolls, bread, cobblers, roasts, pies. I have a slow cooker as well. It is best to use in the winter, soups, chile, bbq ribs, etc.

I do the same thing every year, I clear out shelves of ranch dressing, brownie mix, frosting, and bags of Thai rice. I just got back from Germany, and my 3 bags were full of German food, Wurst, cakes, powder sugar, spices, etc......... The flight check in attendent told me I had to pay 500 euros extra because I was 20 kilos over. I just went and had some guy watch my back pack, after that everything was okay.
