Have you thought about Osan?

Its right on the beach! Beautiful white sand, jumping dolphins, and the nite life. Wow. I can't even begin to describe.

On weekends, sometimes, when i leave my apartment, i may even go to the Lotte mart, to buy some banana's instead of picking them off the trees!!!

Razz

Just thought i would update you on Osan. Its going to be a bright and beautiful weekend here. There is a HUGE beach volleyball competition at the North Shore, then a big pig roast. You better hurry and get here or you'll miss the fun!!

Here's a hint: do the research, then decide for yourself where you want to live, like a normal adult would, instead of asking a bunch of strangers on the internet.

Dont worry Lauren. Getting your feet wet on this board might seem a bit daunting but give it time & you will in fact get good support & advice. The suggestions above to do your research & develop a firmer idea what youre looking for are correct.

Have you read through all the FAQs? Thats a good starting point & will also attune you to the flavor of discussion here. Naive or ill-thought-out questions will draw frivolous answers. Admit it -- your original post on this thread sounds a bit like youre seeking a holiday destination!

Welcome to the fray & dont take it overseriously. Best of luck.

(By the way, thanks Osangrrl! I quit my job, packed my speedos, & I'm like moving there tomorrow. Can you recommend a good surfboard shop?)

Sorry Lauren, wasn't trying to make you a joke, just trying to be funny.

Thats a pretty tall order for korea though... i guess ur best bet is Pusan, but the beaches are crowded crowded crowded.

Beaches in Korea?...surely you jest. No such thing unless you like squirming through people at the "beach" in Pusan. You will certainly find the nightlife in Korea to be lacking. As I've always said, try to live as close to Seoul as possible. If you wind out in some burg like Taegu or Kwangju...life won't be so good. I've lived in the country(even worse:Korean country) and it ain't pretty. Plenty of isolation and staring...does that sound cool?

You guys knew I couldn't pass this up. There are so friggin' many great beaches along the southern and eastern coasts that the above quote isn't even funny, it's so dense. If I wasn't drunk with a Korean guy snoring up a storm at my feet (he refused the bed in favour of a traditional Korean floor night's sleep) I'd bother to link up many great pictures.

I'll just counterclaim: Korea has a lot of good beaches.

G'night.

Yeah, right. That is why every surfing and vacation magazine just has tons of praise for Korean beaches. No decent breaks anywhere from what I've seen. If Haeundae beach is your idea of a real beach then I guess that you haven't visited Sumatra or Fiji. Oh, and if Korea does have some worthy beach(highly doubtful), I'll bet it is strewn with all kinds of litter like soju bottles. There is a reason why Korean beaches ain't listed anywhere!
