|
|
Hi there,
I want to make a web page ending in .co.kr
Unfortunately, I know nothing about how to go about this. I have asked many people, and I have read many posts here but I can't seem to find anything.
Also if you have any advice on how to set a site up once I have the name, then please tell me too!
If you could please advise me on how to go about this (through any means poossible), that would be great.
It is essential that it is .co.kr, and I'm not overly concerned with cost.
Cheers! |

You must do it through a korean domain registrar. One of the few countries that does do it that way I might add.
www.whois.co.kr |

If you're expecting Koreans to read it, then it has to look like a 'korean website'. IMO
Think gray on white, no tables.
The Koreans don't seem to like 'strange looking' websites ... ie. anything thats deemed outside the normal template.
here's a few you might want to have a look at
www.kangsantravel.com
www.koreajoblink.com

Thanks very much for the help guys. It's nice to know that people can make a post and get an answer to the question they actually asked! |

sorry dude ... as per original question
1) go to www.whois.co.kr and enter your site address if your site is www.koreansite.co.kr ... just enter koreansite and pick the co.kr extension. If it's free, enter your credit card details and pay for it.
2) find a host company for your website, i think there's a thread on daves somewhere discussing this subject. get a basic plan
3) download a What You See Is What You Get html editor ... eg. go to google and type in ... warez dreamweaver 7.0 ... or alternatively fork out the cash for a real version, your choice.
4) install software, it will ask you if you want to do a tutorial. Respond positively to this question. Also check sites such as www.webmonkey.com,
www.htmlgoodies.com and use them as a reference
5) download an ftp agent (this is a program that can talk to your webhosts computer and send it files). I reckon that filezilla is the best
6) if you'd like to install a forum such as this one, go to www.phpbb.com and download it. Ask your host how to connect it to your mysql database (if you have one in your plan).
7) also things that might interest you ... content management system (CMS), www.templatemonster.com for the look and feel of your site
post back here if you have problems (or just ask your host and they should sort it out for you) |

One other detail you need to know. You must have a residental address in Korea to register a domain. |
