(Sorry Mr. What the Book... I do like your store and would surely order a book from you but if I do small jobs for clients back in North America I have them pay me in amazon.com gift certificates... )
Twice I've ordered something from amazon.com, for delivery to Korea. All the books were "ship in 24 hours". It takes about a week for them to ship now. However, last time that happened, I got the books (via the cheapest international shipping option) in like 2 weeks vs the normal 1-2 month delay. Oi. I also noticed this last group of books were shipped from Germany, not America.
I'm suspecting this delay is because Amazon.com has opened a shipping center in Germany and now they ship to Korea. The upside being faster book delivery.
Anyone else have a similar experience? |

| I've put about ten orders of books in through amazon over the past year. I've also noticed that the last few have been faster, but I didn't notice they were coming from Germany. I usually go with regular international shipping. |

Many of the booksellers that ship internationally seem to ship books via DHL's GlobalMail service, which is based in Germany. I don't order that much through Amazon and haven't looked closely at the packages I have gotten, but they may now be using GlobalMail as well.
The biggest thing I've noticed about Amazon's shipping is that their books actually arrive -- unlike orders placed with, oh, say, BookCloseouts.com ... |
