Okay, it's getting hot. We all know that. but right now at least, there's some relief at night. I live on the second floor. I think it's safe to leave my window open while I sleep. Right? How about you?

I leave my window open, but then halfway through the night my Korean roommate shuts it and I go sleep in the living room.

Fascinating stuff, Dev.

My answer was no, because of noise.

a huge window, wide open

i can see the stars, have counted dozens before nodding off, except when the glare of a full moon fills the room

quiet as can be, until the crickets, frogs and birds of dawn

one of the benefits one appreciates living on the side of a hill on the edge of a countryside town

Hell no. My room is already so loud as it is since it faces a major road. I'm on the 12th floor and I can hear every truck, scooter and bus that drives by. The honking, too. If I open the window, I hear all of it. I can even hear people talking loudly sometimes.

Definitely a no go on the open window. A/C = 19 degrees.

If I do, I have a few windows that aren't easily accessible that I can leave open. I shut the obvious ones.

Nooooo... my place is generally pretty quiet, but lots of school kids pass by in the mornings. I'm also consistently mosquito-free, which is nice, but doesn't happen so much with the open window. So I keep it closed. It doesn't change the temperature all that much these days whether it's open or closed.

When it starts raining - which is tomorrow, I will have it open - it leads to the balcony anyway, so the rain won't get in.

Right now the air-con is on because it's really rather warm inside, even if outside isn't so bad. Letty sleeps so much better with it on. I think it's something to do with the engine noise, although it is really quiet.

I think the window will be left open tomorrow.

Depends on how many drunks are in the park across the street and how vocal they feel like being. I'd love to be able to always leave it open during the night, but the drunks won't shut up no matter what language you use and if you ask nicely or curse them. At least that bar beneath me (was on first floor and I'm on the second) went out of business...that has greatly helped with noise pollution.

I'm on the first floor, but there's bars on the windows and screens, so it's open.
