Hello,
I found only one post on this that's a year old. Unfortunately, no one responded to it. Hopefully, I'll have better luck. Looks like it's just a recruiting agency so it seems a bit hit or miss that they'll "place you" into a good or bad place. Yes, they're Canadians, but is that supposed to protect you from everything? Anyway, I have an interview with them today. Wondering if anyone else is familiar with them. Thanks.

As young Canadians with experience working and living right here on the ground in Seoul, we understand the concerns and anxieties that go along with the prospect of hopping on a plane to Korea. We can offer you a friendly and personal service that will help you through what we know can be a stressful transition. You will not be dropped in some dusty apartment and left to sort yourself out.
We'll be with you step by step to offer as much advice, help, and support as you need. In signing on with Canadians with Seoul you'll become part of a larger community of Canucks dedicated to making the Korean experience as enjoyable, and rewarding for all of us as possible. We've got plenty of experience in dealing with the schools here and are familiar with the ins and outs of how they work and what is expected of directors and teachers alike.
We go to the schools prior to contract negotiations, to check on the school, accommodation and to get a feel for the school. We will not sign you to a school where we feel something is wrong. We have a great network of expats, living here in Korea, whom you will be able to contact at your own discretion.
What's the catch??? There is no catch, no fuss no bother on your behalf. We organize the school, accommodation, consult with you about the salary and working hours for absolutely free. Working and living in Korea is an exciting and rewarding experience. To the motivated person it can open up a multitude of opportunities.
Whether it is just for traveling purposes, paying off the student loan, or a possible career in English teaching, Korea is a great place to get your feet wet. Thank you for your time from Canadians with Seoul. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Annyong he Kayseyo.( Good bye )

Strikes me as a bit of a wierd and pretentious way to end written correspondence, particularly if that correspondence is in English. But hey, that shouldn't damn them (let the fact that they're recruiters damn them! ). |

If they are placing you into academies, then they won't care about you in the slightest once you have signed - they're only in it for the signing fee and will be as much of a cowboy as any other recruiter. If however, they are placing you in mainstream schools, they might be a little more trustworthy.
I do, however, recall reading something about them or on one of the other, smaller sites, that they were a bunch of cowboys and whoever posted was warning against them vehemently. I might be wrong on that though. |

veronica,
thanks for the post - when you say if they place you in one of the academies, what exactly do you mean? and when you say if they place in you a 'mainstream school' are you talking about places we've all heard about like cdi, etc?
it be nice to know if you're sure about what you say. if so, i'll avoid them like the plague. dissapointing though... sounds like they're sharks everywhere, even if they're canadian. |

Hakwons, after school academies, and when you say if they place in you a 'mainstream school' are you talking about places we've all heard about like cdi, etc? Middle and high schools - state run schools.
