hey guys. well, the problem is that i'm in Korea on a 3 month tourist visa and it's going to end in about 2 weeks. I don't want to go to Japan and come back b/c that's too much money. I heard you can extend your tourist visa at the immigration office. But the thing is that I don't know what specific reasons the immigration office will take in order to extend tourist visas. does anyone know of any way to extend tourist visas and if the immigration office is strict on extending visas? |

To my knowledge, the only way to extend your tourist visa is to exit the country. The cheapest way and/or most efficient way to do this is to take the ferry to Fukoka Japan.
Are you here as a tourist or working anyways?
If your working (illegally then) perhaps you should just cough up the cash and go to Fukoka.
If not, its a tough call. |

I've extended tourist visas but not for any great length of time (a week was max).
Bring a ticket or itinerary that shows that you're leaving the country on day X, and day X isn't too far past the end of your current visa, you would probably get one -- but it's not long enough to be useful for much. |
