That's one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV.

| They've been milking the same (and similar) "stupid human" angle on Jay Leno for a few years now, and it's no surprise that people are getting more-and-more ignorant. When we stop laughing, we have to consider how much the (American) educational system has declined - especially with respect to liberal arts, history and current events. For the most part, these folks are average-or-good looking, have decent jobs (or job-titles) and presumably have some technical skills - but otherwise they're like complete idiots (and I've seen hundreds of them featured just on this show - what to speak of the morons on "Springer" and other shows broadcast around the world...) It's no wonder Bush (and his "sidekick" Cheney) got elected initially on the pledge of being "the education president," and got re-elected as the educational system apparently produced record numbers of ignoramuses (who formerly would be made to wear dunce caps in school...) |

You really have to watch part 2, one of the contestants says she's going back to Carnagie Mellon to get a second degree in political science, and she couldn't identify a picture of (former Vice President) Al Gore.
But it was mostly the usual stuff- Abraham Lincoln wrote the Star Spangled Banner and the first line goes "I pledge allegiance to the flag..." Tony Blair was either Bush's protegé (one contestant) or sidekick (the other two).
What really made it for me was their expressions and just how they said things, it was hilariously obvious that they weren't just 'acting dumb' for the cameras. |

1. If you continue to assume that all Americans are as dumb as some of the people in that show come across, then your respective nations will continually under-estimate America. America will stay #1 in many things for a long time, if that is the case.
2. If everyone there was that dumb, it wouldn't be funny to them, either. |

BBE, HapKi, I look at it as entertainment, and damned funny entertainment.
Don't think that I'm posting this as a Canadian trying to make some sort of statement about the US.
I get the impression you feel that I'm doing that. |

| JayWalking is usually filmed in trendy areas of LA. My friends and I in college were super nerds but we all agreed that if we saw the tonight show's cameras we'd pretend to be dumb in all the right ways to get on TV. |
