My new Bluesky DVD player bought today at carefours does not seem to want to emit sound. I have the thing playing video but no sound. The three wires yellow red and white are pretty easy to figure out how to plug into the back of the DVD player, but the tv only seems to have two plugins on the front of the TV.
Any thoughts? |

First of all, shame on you for not buying the Silady model from there. For about 89,000 you can also play DIVX and WMA files burned to CD or DVD.
You might have a sound menu issue. I had a different chinese player that required me to go into the menus and set it from digital to analogue before the anologue outs would work.
If you take it back, get the silady. |

I tried the sound menu and set it to analogue 2 and disabled surround sound. Still no luck. This is getting really annoying. |

Return it. The sooner, the better.
That store is good about returns if you have a receipt. |

Generally:
Red=Right channel sound
White=Left channel sound
Yellow= Video
It sounds to me that you have a monophone tv, so just plug in the yellow and red (or white, you choose). That should do it really. Further, check for a coaxial hookup on both devices-> that may just be simpler. |

Damn it DVD player number 2 not putting out any sound either. Least Carrefours isn't a bunch of pricks on returned items. Bleeh... I think I am gonna save up a bit more scratch and get a laptop that handles all of that for me, and burns cds as a bonus. |

Me too, and I'm also thinking that- while not impossible- it's unlikely that you got 2 defective DVD players in a row.
So I think the problem lies in how you are connecting the two- you may need an adaptor of some sort if the tv is really old.
One of my tvs at home is old enough that it won't hook up to a DVD player without an expensive adaptor of some sort, so it's not; I have other tvs for my DVD players and it sits in the guest room (it's not even on cable, just the ol' rabbit ears).
Of course for you it may be a question of which is cheaper- an adaptor or a newer tv.
And this is just supposition, I could be totally off-base... |

I doubt your wrong, I am gonna take the second one back and get my money back. Next month I am going to have my clunker of a computer upgraded down at Yongson, get some more ram bigger hard drive and a dvd player. |

Sure if you're in a small (i.e. typical Korean) apt and have a nice flat screen, you're better off watching DVDs on it than an old TV anyway. |

I live in an Officetel and have plenty of room. That was part of my reason for wanting a DvD player, rather than using my pc. Oh well no biggie. |

Ask around, an adaptor might be a lot cheaper than I think they are, and/or a lot cheaper in Korea; there might also be a different cable setup that might work... |

What does it say next to the two connectors on the TV? |

Nothing much, and what is there is in Korean. It has two connectors that fit the dvd cables, and one other that looks like a plug in for a head phone jack almost. |
