Not a plug for my Cyworld page because I get more that enough visitors on it, but I just got the best song ever for it. Listen to it three times with headphones on and everything will drift away. Song name is Mike Mills by Air.

Their song "Alone in Kyoto" does the same thing to me. I like them for the most part, though from time to time you taste the tiniest bit of that existentialist despair. Frenchies. Whaddaya expect? Cool

Actually, in that same vein, I think this is the best song ever:

"saeglopur"

If you want to hear it, go here:
http://www.myspace.com/sigurros
click on "saeglopur"

It starts off musicboxish but then changes in the middle to driving. Tis my new favourite song.

Everytime I hear Blunt's 'beautiful' song I want to stick sharpened pencils into my ears and burst my eardrums so I don't have to listen to it.

And what's with that video? 'I know I'll sit here on the floor with no shirt on and take all this random stuff out of my pockets and put it infront of me, then for the coupe de grace, I'll go and jump in the sea. Fantastic.'

Good call on Air and Damien Rice though.

"Tribute"

This is the greatest and best song in the world... Tribute.

Long time ago me and my brother Kyle here,
we was hitchhikin' down a long and lonesome road.
All of a sudden, there shined a shiny demon... in the middle... of the road.
And he said:

"Play the best song in the world, or I'll eat your soul."

Well me and Kyle, we looked at each other,
and we each said... "Okay."

And we played the first thing that came to our heads,
Just so happened to be,
The Best Song in the World, it was The Best Song in the World.

Look into my eyes and it's easy to see
One and one make two, two and one make three,
It was destiny.
Once every hundred-thousand years or so,
When the sun doth shine and the moon doth glow
And the grass doth grow...

Needless to say, the beast was stunned.
Whip-crack went his Whoopy tail,
And the beast was done.
He asked us: "(snort) Be you angels?"
And we said, "Nay. We are but men."
Rock!
Ahhh, ahhh, ahhh-ah-ah,
Ohhh, whoah, ah-whoah-oh!

This is not The Greatest Song in the World, no.
This is just a tribute.
Couldn't remember The Greatest Song in the World, no, no.
This is a tribute, oh, to The Greatest Song in the World,
All right! It was The Greatest Song in the World,
All right! It was the best muthaf_ckin' song the greatest song in the world.

And the peculiar thing is this my friends:
the song we sang on that fateful night it didn't actually sound
anything like this song.

This is just a tribute! You gotta believe me!
And I wish you were there! Just a matter of opinion.
Ah, f_ck! Good God, God lovin',
So surprised to find you can't stop it.

All right! All right!

Intro / Sweet Jane - the velvet underground Cool

Standing on the corner
Suitcase in my hand
Jack's in his corset, jane is in her vest
Me, honey, i'm in a rock 'n' roll band
Ridin' in a stutz bearcat, jim
Those were different times
They studied rules of verse
And those ladies they rolled their eyes

Sweet jane
Sweet jane
Sweet jane

Jack, he is a banker
Jane, she is a clerk
Both of them save their money
When they come home from work
Sittin' by the fire
Radio does play, look classical music there, kids
"the march of the wooden soldiers"
You can hear jack say

Sweet jane
Sweet jane
Sweet jane

Some people like to go out dancing
And other people like us, we gotta work
And there's even some evil mothers
They'll tell you that life is just made out of dirt
And women never really faint
All the villains always blink their eyes
That children are the only ones who blush
And life is just to die

Anyone who ever had a heart
And wouldn't turn around and break it
Anyone who ever played a part
And wouldn't turn around and hate it

Sweet jane
Sweet jane
Sweet jane

Sweet jane, sweet jane
Sweet jane, oh honey, sweet jane
Sweet jane, oh, sweet jane
Sweet jane, sweet jane

Can't decide between Ever Fallen In Love by The Buzzcocks or Teenage Kicks by The Undertones (John Peel's favourite song).

I was 7/8 when these songs were released but that post-punk era is still my favourite period for music.

Can you judge a man by the way he wears his hair
Can you read his mind by the clothes that he wears
Can you see a fat man by the pattern on his tie

Then mister you're a better man than I
Mister you're a better man than I

Could you tell a wise man by the way he speaks or spells
Is this more important than the stories that he tells
And call a man a fool if for wealth he doesn't strive

Then mister you're a better man than I
Mister you're a better man than I

Can you condemn a man if your faith he doesn't hold
Say the colour of his skin is the colour of his soul
Can you say that men for king and country all must die

Then mister you're a better man than I
Mister you're a better man than I
