My friend has been looking for art supply stores around Ansan or Seoul.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

In Seoul there are guaranteed to be art supply shops in Hongdae and Insadong ( though those are more specialized) Closer to home, you could try the bigger stationary shops, they usually carry a decent selection too

There's one in the underground shopping center at Express Bus Terminal. It's pretty good.

Alpha store at Namdamun Markets, just past gate one has quite a large selection of great art supplies.

around Samgakji station there are some good shops with really good prices.
If you take exit 2 (I think it's tow, it's the one around the corner from Itaewon direction)
Go to the last shop before the first intersection. The owners are really nice and helpful, u might even get a discount.
