Ok so its more like fourteen, but it doesnt have the same flow....
But nonetheless yes, I shall be boarding a plane here rather soon and flying out. I've bought everything I'm gonna, read everything I can, and now just waiting. In the meantime I figured it was time to finally start an account here, though I'm not entirely certain why. I really hope I dont end up like most of the people I read on here... bitching about life in Korea, but we'll see.
All I know is that in two weeks I'll be getting drunk an ocean away from home, first time out of the country. Can't wait, even if life there is worse than the worst depiction I've possibly read, if the kids are horrible (I plan on instituting a massive candy/trinket bribery system to pacify them), if it stinks, the food sucks, and my hagwon screws me over, even then it isnt gonna matter. Really how hard and stressful can the job really be? Not to demean anyone, but, well... nothing is gonna phase me, it might take some getting used to, but I'm a native speaker and a writing major to boot. Might take some time to adjust, to learn how, and to do well, but all things do, and I'm not even worried about it. Too much adventure, and when it runs out, well I suppose Ill just have to jet off to another country in another year or so and see what lifes like there. Au revoir America!
Save the, "you dont know what youre getting yourself into", "Pohong sucks", et al responses, I'm not really interested in them: Who's buying the first round? Can I get bourbon over there?
PS: I hate spell check, and type fast, thusly I feel compelled to exonerate myself henceforth from any and all grammatical errors on this board, and will at will refer to this exoneration upon castigation of my internet illiteracy. |

I believe I exonerated myself from such trivialities in my previous post, but nonetheless as a humorous aside, I actually originally spelled it Pohang.
Its been awhile since I last wikipedia'd the city, and upon final reflection the omission of one, and inclusion of another (vowel), just seemed more logical for whatever reason given my current state.
Not that Im a drunk, but it is a Friday |

My question was an honest one, I'd never heard of Pohong before.
Not knowing the name of the city you're going to doesn't strike me as a triviality, but whatever.
For those soon to be new to Korea, you'll probably discover the importance of vowels, and what a difference a vowel can make.
Or not.
It doesn't much matter to me whether you do or not. |
