The REI I worked for in Taebaek was a hideous horrible place to work with evil owners, poor curriculum and long hours.

The REI I work for in Jeomchon has kindly, honest owners who support me if I have any problems with the kids, and reasonable hours. The curriclum is OK. The one book we (the middle school kids and I) all hated we got rid of.
My boss said that REI used to do more to help them and direct them but have all but washed their hands of the English biz and are now off into some other venture.
As is the case with many franchises, the ownership of the individual school is all that counts.
It's Reformed English Institute.

stay WELL clear of REI Andong. If you want details just search on the net. The boss has screwed over 100% of all teachers who have ever worked there - and it's been going for almost 4 years. Bad, BAD man.. urrrghhhhh.

But REI's just a franchine so every one is different. But i think REi sounds like some kind of disease??

I got darn close to working at the school in Andong.
I signed the contract and tried to fax it back, but it wouldn't go through.
The man at the store said to try again the next day.
That night, I did a Google search on "REI Andong" and saw all the horrid things Thursday's Child saw.

I still tremble whenever I think about that.

The REI I work at is a great place. Generally trouble free and if there are any problems then they are quickly sorted with the help of my boss.

My director is a qualified teacher ( with experence ), speaks English well, doesn't take any nonsense from the kids and is a woman to boot.

Good place I tell ya. Very Happy
