Gentlemen, in order to satisfy the regulations of the Ministry of Gender Equality, a survey of your age must be conducted. This is in response to the highly sexist survey that was created by RachaelRoo. See below.
Women in Korea - how old are you?
20-25 24% [ 10 ]
25-30 41% [ 17 ]
30-35 19% [ 8 ]
35-40 7% [ 3 ]
40-50 7% [ 3 ]

Hey ladies! I know that a lot of posters on this board are past their twenties - but I get the impression that most of them are male. So I was wondering about the girls in this country, especially those who have been here for a while - how old are you? I was thinking that maybe I could stay in Korea for a very long time, but I really haven't come across many women in their thirties or forties here, aside from those that married a Korean.
So, married or not, been here forever or just arrived - could we get a quick survey of the female posters on this board? |

Does this really translate to Ministry of Gender Equality?
 means what?
= woman; women in general; a woman's voice
 = family
= department (ministry); father; no; wealth; poem
= gender; sex; anger; family name; ministry; office; department
   without distinction of sex

On the on-line applications, the drop-down menu for year-of-birth doesn't go back far enough. So I have to lie by taking the earliest year on that menu. |

You need to send a letter to the Ministry of Age Equality. |

Because, broadly speaking, living in Korea is easier and more enjoyable for Western men than it is for Western women? Female English teachers don't stay as long, I'm guessing. And because pulling up stakes in your own country and decamping to South Korea for X years at age... oh, 30-something, is just doesn't sound as appealing to as many Western women as to Western men?

OK Lt. Cmmdr. Data.
I suspect it might be related to patterns of marriage and childraising, and the differences between men and women there may be related to the differences we see in this data here. (That is, women are far less likely to be running around in their mid- to late-thirties than men.)
I would probably draw a lot of fire for saying that, and the truth is: I'm not even sure that it's accurate. So please don't quote me. |

Thanks for clearing the decks there, Goph. But I think I can draw more fire than you can. Just watch.
RachaelRoo, the guys tend to be older than the girls here because that's the Creator's will, nothing more and nothing less. If the Creator didn't want this age discrepancy, then He wouldn't have given women the biological clocks that He did. |
