How many days do you have before you have to clear out of Korea once an E-2 visa expires? I've heard rumours of 5 days...
Also, if the E-2 visa was extended to accommodate an extra month on the end of the contract, will that affect this? Do they usually extend for a month, or for a whole new year? I can't get a straight answer out of my director. (just communication problems) |

You can get a short extension of maybe 2-3 weeks with a written letter asking for it, explaining why, and show up at immigration in person before your visa expires. Sometimes they even give extensions if you show them a ticket out that is for after the expiration.
A year or longer extension certainly requires showing a new contract.
As far as how long you have to get out.............I think the day of the expiration is your deadline. Might be wrong.......... |

Absolutely true. Take it to the bank. |

I-man is right.
You have to leave the day (or next day) when you visa expires. However, it is very easy to get a couple weeks extension. Just ask your employer to get in touch with immigration. Takes a couple of days and voila...you got your extension. |

Nope, not the next day. My flight was for the following day (10hrs later), my boss called immigration and they said I had to go down for an extension. |

Once you leave the country. Does that end your contract with the school or do you have to have some paperwork to support it?
I am also coming back to a new school, do you have to give back your arc card? |
