My first year in Korea, I started to have terrible, terrible anxiety (damned horrible hakwon). My doctor was extremely reluctant to prescribe me anything, and he seemed very suspicious of me, like I was a druggie or something. I felt humiliated, and I practically had to beg to get him to help me.

Any one here getting clonazepam? I see one doctor on the net who will prescribe it in Seoul, but I recall on the plane here last time, a warning about bringing benzodiazepines into the country. My friend used to find this medication very helpful, any one know a good doctor I could recommend?

You want to start taking psychiatric drugs? I know they are for anxiety, but does your job give you that much stress?

i was prescribed xanax for a year in korea (30 .5 mg pills a month for 4,000 won). it is in the benzodiazepine family of anti-anxiety drugs
(along with clonazepam, klonopin, valium, diazepam, ativan, etc.). it was a big help, i didn't take it everyday (it's addictive) -- only about once or twice a week or so. most doctors will prescribe it, but it is a "controlled" substance. make sure you have proper documentation for it. you can get it without a script in thailand and malaysia.

Just curious.........what kind of anxiety are you having?

It might fall under 'Panic Attacks' DSM 4-R

If this is the case, there is a great book called ......

Panic Free: Eliminate Anxiety/Panic Attacks without
Drugs and Take Control of Your Life
ISBN:0966854608

This book will change your life. I have worked with many people who have gained their lives back, and all without the use of drugs.
