I heard through the grapevine that there is a battered women's shelter in or around Waegwan. Does anyone know anything about this? If it's true could I get the address and or contact info?
Thanks |

Still can't use the internet in Korean? Come on... you're looking for ϸڿ in , across from Jungang Elementary School in the little finger of town that runs north of Camp Carroll. A general social-services-for-women outfit which also provides shelter, or so it appears.
At this writing, all given websites for Sangnok are down. I gather that they are associated in some way with the Waegwan Abbey, so you might start by inquiring there (where there are people who speak English and German). |

While I'd like to thank you for the help, you can keep the snarky attitude to yourself. I can use the internet in Korean, but it is much more convenient and efficient to ask such a question on a forum where people speak my native language and may have had first hand experience and knowledge about the place I am looking for.
Thanks |

| Wow, that comment was rude. There must be some background to this one, or someone is using a sock to made smart remarks. |

Sorry, madtinkerer, I mistook you for someone with a sense of humor. Won't happen again.
However, thanks for reminding me of why I seldom post here. |

If I were looking for a battered women's shelter, I wouldn't be in the mood for joking around.
I hope you found the shelter helpful. Good luck to you or the person you are trying to help. |

You'd think with the way Korean society views women's rights, there would be more shelters around the country.
If you are trying to help someone~ good luck to you and I wish the person the very best.
I keep saying, Korea can be a very good place. But it can be hell on earth too.
My college have a student help-center, and one of the things they have there is crisis assistance councellor. Too bad its in Korean though. |
