Hey All.
I'm a newly-arrived teacher from Canada living in Suwon. (I already posted a message like this, but in the wrong area, as I'm still getting used to this site).
Anyway, would love to meet others to hang out or whatever.
Drop me a line anytime.
Cheers.

What part of town are you in?
Suwon is the provincial capital of Gyeonggi-do and is a fairly a big place... over 1 million population and it is a long way from Buk Suwon to Yeongtong. |

I'm in Yeong Tong Dong, close to Kyung Hee University. I'm beginning to find my way around but don't know other areas yet. Are you still in Kwangju? |

just inside the big front gate at KHU there is a bar where some westerners hang out on Friday nights. Go down the hill to the right after going into the gate, and there is the bar on the left across from the batting cages. The sign says, "Rock and Roll Hip Hop" but everyone knows it as "Pool Bar."
good luck |

You can also find other foreigners at Home Plus, the Grand (McDonalds rest.), Madd Dogs (beside the theater), or SUBWAY on the bar strip next to the overpass. Just walk down the bar strip on friday night. You can also find a lot of them at the "SPORTS CLUB" above the "Poly Returnee Hakwon".
I Just moved from Suwon after 3 years there. I work in Kwangju but live in Bundang (by Seohyun station). |

i live in suwon as well..close to the galleria mall. As long as we are on directions...who knows how to get to the club in anyang where foreigners can play music. I was there once...but i dont recall how to get there. Plus they changed the name of the music bar. Any ideas? |

I'm in Suwon. But most of my Korean experience happened in Anyang.
I-am-me: I think you're looking for Rockssin and the name hasn't changed (yet.) Try www.rockssin.com
I also live close to Galleria. Perhaps we can go to Rockssin's open mic Friday. PM me and we can hook up.
All these directions look like a Side by Side 1 lesson! Just give the dong and name of the place. |

Thanks all for the names of the clubs, although I'm loath to try to find them on my own, as that hasn't worked for me in this country so far.
Perhaps some people could meet up in front of the main gates of Kyung Hee University one Friday, (or whenever), or at the Homeplus in Yeong Tong Dong (the one near the road they're ripping up to build the subway. It has a Lotteria and I believe a Baskin Robbins on the ground floor, as well as KB machines). Those are the only places I can readily identify at the moment!
Cheers and hope to hear from people! |
