Well,
Many options for shopping for women's clothes (my wife loves to drag me along!).
As for western style...what do you mean exactly? Is it a size issue (tall or whatever) or simply a "style" thing?
Try Seomyon (stop 19 on the subway line) there you will find heaps of stores and department stores:
Underground mall.
Lotte.
Migliore.
Carrefour (so so).
You can also go to Hyundai Department store (more expensive) in pusanjin.
Nampodong has a big open air clothes market with lots of choices and there are tons of stores there too.
Haeundae has shoppping to.
Best of luck. |

Thanks for the info Homer! Size isn't an issue, just style. Except for shoes - you know if it would be possible to find western sized shoes anywhere in Busan?
Also, is there a good English bookstore you could direct me to? |

Shoes:
Well...try the outlet stores (more sports shoes there however)
Or, the bigger department stores.
There are bookstores in Busan but none specifically English. most have an English book section however.
My suggestion: Amazon.
The books are cheaper and the shipping is not that expensive. |

| Hi, If you are in Busan then you aren't far from Daegu. There is a bookshop there which has a fairly decent English book department. |

I think Homer covered most of the shopping areas. The only other place I can think of is Sa-sang, but you might find it to be a little out of your way. There are two main shopping places there. One is Renee City and the other is Apple Outlet. The first is around the corner from Homeplus and the second is right on the corner of the main intersection near the bus terminal, McDonald's, and the subway. I wouldn't be too excited about either place, but it might be worth a look if you're in the area. Subway stop is #227. Some pretty good shoes at Lotte and Hyundai. Prices are pretty steep at both places but they have sales sometimes, making the prices much more reasonable. In Lotte, most of the dress shoes are on the ground floor, but there's also a famous brand-name floor(maybe the fifth?) where you might be able to find Doc's and Rockport's, if you're into that kind of thing. There's also a place called "Spunz" near Hae-oon-dae that used to have a Doc Marten outlet, but I don't know if it's still there these days. Some of my former students had raved about the place(Spunz) but I was quite disappointed as I had expected more based upon their descriptions. Yet another Subway Restaurant with only sweet pickles.
Here's some bookstore info:
Busan
Kyobo Bookstore: Seomyeon ()
Branch of the major Korean book company. Pretty good selection of ESL materials and typical novels which either were, are, or will be a major motion picture. Special orders of unavailable materials can be shipped from Seoul, usually within a week if in stock. Walking from Seo-myeon Rotary, it's located just before VIPs Steakhouse on the left side of the street. You can enter on the ground floor and most English-related materials are in the basement.
Dongbo Bookstore: Seomyeon ()
Not a huge selection of English-related materials, but worth a look. Actually, of all the stores, the clerks here tend to be the most helpful. Walking from Seo-myeon Rotary, you'll find it on the ground floor on the left side of the street before Judie's Tae-hwa(old Tae-hwa Department Store).
Younggwang Bookstore: Seomyeon ()
Across from Lotte Department Store and Hotel in Seomyeon(one street back after crossing). Pretty good selection of ESL materials, Korean language resources, and games. The games are quite pricey. Lots of floors of books; however, most English materials are located in the basement.
Kim & Johnson: Beom-nae-gol(near Seomyeon).
For a small place, there's an okay selection of ESL materials, novels, games, and related items. Although prices tend to be a little high, you can apply for a discount card which can be used on your first visit and every visit thereafter. Heading from Seomyeon, look for a big red and white sign on the right side of the street on the second floor after passing Beom-nae-gol subway station. You will find it before Hyundai Department Store.
English Plus(?) - Nampo-dong.
I've never been in there, but walked by it a couple of times. Looks like a kid's store but a friend said that they have an okay selection of ESL stuff on the second floor. |

In Haeundae, there is a place called Rodeo that has some outlet stores there that might be to your liking. "Levis, Guess, Calvin Klein, etc" . But you will pay thru your ass. It aint cheap.
In Spunz, I think they had a Gap and CK (or one of the jean companies). I think there was a store called GAS there, but it was insanely expensive.
Up a few floors in Spunz there are more stores as well. |

Yes, they do. I was surprised at the selection. Quite a bit upstairs, plus classic novels.
It's located near the edge of Nampodong, toward the water, actually on my walking route from the ferry terminal to Nampodong. It does look like a children's store from the outside because of the colour design and imagery. It is indeed called English Plus. |
