Clockwork Orange puns welcomed on this thread.
A few years ago I watched a doco about an Aussie expat in Japan who ran his own small personalised bus/bike/hike tours for Australian tourists heading to Hokkaido - mainly families who wanted the personal touch and convenience of a bilingual guide. It was quite expensive, so he only needed to run about one or two a month to cover his costs and turn a decent profit. The families lay out extra dosh but they have a great time without the stress of language difficulties and travel hitches. The guide dealt with the lot. They just went along for the ride. We had the thought of setting that kind of thing up in Korea at some future point. Anybody tried this kind of thing before? I'm keen to research the pros and cons of such a biz and what kind of preps would need to be undertaken to get it off the ground. I imagine K-tourism is probly very well-protected from within to stop foreigners making a venture of it. Maybe I'm just cynical. Anyway, post thoughts and experiences of such if you have them.
