I remember back home, there were two kinds of vinegar. Malt and white vinegar. Here I am in Korea, and now I want to find the white vinegar that we get back home.
I have looked around a bit, and haven't found it... anyone know where I can get this? I looked at Wal-Mart and saw a TON of variety, from apple-based vinegars to pomegranite-based vinegars, but I have no idea which one is the white vinegar we get back home. They all looked off color to me.
Anyone know which one I should get? Maybe an Emart or Homeplus store brand you know of? Or some other place in Daegu? |

Only Costco sells *white* vinegar.. the rest sell apple cider vinegar or peach vinegar etc...
I just use whatever...lol... apple cider vinegar is sweeter than your average white vinegar, so I just add less sugar.
I have yet to see malt vinegar being sold in Korea. |

I have seen white vinegar in Namdemun, sometimes the foreign food sections, and in "the red door".
Buy the apple vinegar. It is great. The other cheap vinegars, the lemon and the brown rice are good also.
Have you tried them? |
