Hi guys,
I'm looking to do roleplays with my students. Currently I am looking to do lessons based on the following
Restaurant (ordering food etc)
Shopping (buying/selling)
Doctors (diagnosing/curing)
So for the restaurant one, they have a lesson looking at foods how they are cooked etc. This cumulates with them creating a restaurant and menu.
The next lesson would have them acting as customers and waiters. My only problem is, my class varies in size from 39-44 students and its gonna be a nightmare controlling the kids.
Does anyone have any tips on how I would manage a roleplay environment with that many students? |

I just explain the role play task and then divide them into groups of 4. I tell them they have 10 minutes or so to practice before they have to perform. Then various groups perform for the class. It gets a little noisy but we've never had any problems. |

I make groups of 4 or 5 students. I give them a certain amount of time to make the roleplay, then they perform it infront of the class.
I don't go so indepth with it because the goal is just to practice a simple structure/sentence pattern with the selected topic of the day. |

I keep the kids in their rows. We first do the dialogue with students and I. Then half the class does one half, the other the other half. Then we have row competitions. At the end I give them a few minutes practice by themselves then call for volunteers who get candy. |
