At some point I will be heading home, and at that point I will need to send home a lot of books. Does anyone know if the Korean postal service offers any special book rate? And if not, what other cheap ways could one send books home from Korea? |

I sent some magazines home, at the post office they stamped them "Printed Materials only"- clipped the corner off the envelope for easy inspection, and gave me a discount.
So I'm thinking, yes, they'll give you a special rate for books. |

It's not expensive to send things to North America (if that's where you're sending it) by surface mail.
I sent a big box of stuff, including books, and it cost me 31,000 Won. Mind you, it takes 2-3 months to get there. |

The US postal service's book rate was a huge deal compared to Canada post which forces you to send books and media via expensive first class mail. I could mail a book from Seattle to New York in like 2-3 days. Try Vancouver to Montreal and it would cost you triple and take a week+. |
