I am an Aussie wanting to head to England for 2 years after I finish my contract and was wondering if anyone has done the same thing . If so could i have some advice
- is it easy to get , I dont live anywhere near seoul ,
- do you have to go to an interview.
- Is there any stipulated amount of funds you need to qualify.
Cheers in Advance |

Yes - that is, assuming you mean WHV to be a "Working Holiday Visa" ?? I've never heard anyone refer to it by an abbrevated name, and you might get more responses if you spell it out.
Anyway, if that is what you are looking for, the answers are --
Yes, it's easy to get. There are a set of criteria, if you meet them, you get the visa. You will need to go onto the British Embassy website for Korea and read the requirements and see if you meet them. (Google it)
Yes, an interview is mandatory, or was wen I did mine. I'm not sure if Seoul is the only location that does them, perhaps if there is a British consulate in Busan (??) they would do it also, but again, read the website to find out more information.
The working holiday visa doesn't have a set amount of money that you need in order to qualify, although they did give me the guideline of "enough to live for 3 months plus the cost of a flight home." I took a bank statement and some other financial proof and the interviewer didn't ask to see it -- his way of ensuring I had enough money was saying "You've worked here a year, you've got lots of money saved up, don't you?" I simply answered "yes" and that satisfied him.
This visa is not complicated and everything you need to know is available on the Korean British Embassy webpage. |
