| I just got into Korea and am already bored. Is there anywhere to play basketball and where do I go to meet other foreign people because I am the only foreigner in my school? Also, where are good places to go downtown and dance and drink and have fun? Please help, and no dorky responses because you guys are annoying. |

There are no other foreign people in Korea. We are all posting from our parents' basement back home. I can't believe you fell for this.  |

| Forget the previous responses. Look around the parks and the schools, they have hoops. hiking, bowling, etc can be fun. Take your time and look around. |

Wow, guess what buddy I have some really bad news for you.
There is no basketball, no grits, no malt liquor and crack houses are few and far between.
On the flip side fried chicken and watermelon is pretty easy to find and that should tide you over for a while

Funny thing, my dad's (true story) been saying that for a couple of years now, everything bored him to tears...travel, vacations, movies, work, you name it, he was bored. He said even eating was boring so he stopped doing that too and then he had to go to the hospital and they administered electro-convlusive therapy (shock treatments) to cure his boredom.
Turns out he has stomach cancer and last week they chopped out half his stomach. He says having cancer is extremely...boring... |

Hello ervinmagic, welcome to Korea!! The best way to find new friends in Korea is to go up to random Koreans (preferable male with an accompanying female) and say to them "Is she your your pal Norm?" However, in Korea, this is usually shortened to "She pal, Norm?" If they don't understand you, just repeat with increased volume. This will invariable gain you the desired effect of increased attention. If your newly-found friends leave quickly after making physical contact, try again.

Ha-ha-ha! That was a really delightful reply---I got a really great laugh out of it, my first in hours!
The other posters were hilarious,too! It's almost like reading a "Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions" section of Mad Magazine!
To the OP: as everyone else has said on this thread, Korea is really boring. There are no restaurants here, no movie theaters, no shopping centers, no bookstores, no sports facilities, no travelling at all to do here.Korea is so backward that it's almost like living during the Iron Age, with everyone living in caves and having the I.Q.'s of Homo Sapiens or Cro--Magnon ( foreigners and natives included ).
I was so bored here, that I ended up staying for only 2 1/2 years. It's precisely because I received absolutely no favourable impressions of Korea, that I felt drawn to Dave's Cafe while back in my country and am now contemplating doing another stint here. |

Downtown Kabul is rockin' these days... I've heard Baghdad is pretty good too. They have fireworks almost every day. |
