Hi guys,

I am looking to supplement my income, and rather follow the path to dark side with privates, I'd much rather get a part time gig at a hagwon.

I'm wondering how this would work? I am in school 8.30-4.30 in the week so am free every evening. Whilst I am in Incheon a well paid job in Seoul would work.

Anyone in EPIK know whether this would be allowed/ have been able to get a 2nd job? There is no reason to prevent me from working, it wont detract from my job at school but logic is not always used over here. Knowing that another school allowed their waigook to do it would add another facet of reasoning to my request....

Working most evenings in the week for a couple of hours what sort of second wage could I expect? How would I go about researching the job?
How do u make it legal?

If you have an E2 visa, you need permission for your primary sponser in order to work at another job. If you are working at a public school (and/or must private schools) they will NOT give you permission. It actually states just that in the contract.

Wow, you have a public school job and you want another one?

I work the same hours as you 8.00-4.20 and find that is quite enough?

I dont have many classes (only 16 though I am contracted for 22) so I spend a large part of my day twiddling my thumbs, its hardly a stressful lifestyle I'll look into my contract.

Not only is it in the contract, it is against the law to teach at a hogkwan if you work in a public school.
