I was just wondering whether anybody has gotten tickets to Thailand, going around Christmas. I was told that prices wouldn't be out for that season until the middle of October, and to wait until then.
I'm new at the whole travelling thing, and was hoping someone was in the same boat as me!?! |

hi,
I was told by a travel agent that the discounted prices do not come out till mid to late October. You can reserve your seating now, which is highly recommended(seats go fast - high season). Usually you don't have to pay till a month or so before departure. Tickets to Thailand (discounted) will be between 500-600thousand won. Check around they will give you a rough estimate.
hope this helps |

Try using "Thai Sky Airlines" or "Orient Thai Airlines" (low cost carrier air lines) for cheaper tickets.
Both of these airlines are CURRENTLY offering Seoul-Bangkok-Seoul on for under 400,000 won (including tax). |

Soviet_man,
Where would one find out about Thai sky airlines or Orchid airlines? Is it possible to book with them through a Korean travel agent or only online? |

Yes through a travel agency.
"Thai Sky" just started operating to Korea a few months ago. Daytime flight to Thailand, midnight return flight back to Seoul from Bangkok. Very old planes.
"Orient Thai" airlines is probably the better of the two. They fly to both Bangkok and Phuket from Korea.
Fares for both will be lower than a full-service airline. |

Has anyone been to Koh Samet/Koh Chang/Pattaya? I've been to both Phuket and Koh Samui and both were pretty nice places, especially Samui but this time around I'm thinking of going to one of the other three places I mentioned. I guess they weren't affected as much by the tsunami.
So which one would you recommend? |

Yep I Have been to Koh Chang and Pattya. As a women Pattya was not my scene however it's a cheaper base than Bangkok. Koh Chang is a great little island. It's developing quickly but there are still good spots. It's not a party island, be warned. My spot is Lonely Beach, although these days it't not that lonely. The Treehouse has moved to the secluded bottom of the island.
It takes a whole day to get there by bus and ferry from Bangkok so you need to leave early. |
