|
|
Hi guys,
I tried finding information about visa extension issues but had no success. Anyway, I wonder what is involved with a visa extension.
For example:
1) How long does the process take?
2) What documents are needed?
3) Is there a website I can read?
4) Is the process different depending on the type of visa you have?
5) etc
Any information would be appreciated. |

I have had it done twice...
1)One time they did it on the spot, like 30 minutes another time it took 2 working days
2)I needed my contract, my passport, alien card and 15 000 won
3)Not that i know off
4)Don't know...i have an E2
Each time i got it done my I took my wonjang with me to alliviate any hassles |

This is a dumb question. Where do you go to get the visa extension?
I live in Pyeongteak city. To get my ARC involved an hour long drive to some obscure suburb of Suwon. Is that where I would have to go?? |

I had my extended just the other week. Took literally less than 10 minutes and cost 30,000won (maybe different Immigration Offices have different rates but at Yeosu the Visa extension rate is 30,000). Before going down my boss gave me all the paperwork I needed plus a form I needed to complete, then I just went down and handled it over along with my ARC card and passport.
To get it extended, you'll most likely have to go to the same place where you first had your ARC processed unless you've changed your location to another district and have informed immigration, such as what happened to me. If in doubt, it's probably best to check with your boss whether you have to go back to the same office or can go to another. |

Yes.
However, it is quite quick and painless to train/subway to Suwon and then take a bus or taxi to the immigration office. |
