Hi everybody.

Hope you're having a nice fall.
My question is for Canadians mostly, because I happen to be one and am moving home in a couple of months.

I am moving home to start grad. school. The program at my university will take me about two years, because my undergraduate major is in another subject, so I'll be doing a pre-masters year.

It's been a while since I've lived in Canada, and lately I find myself getting more and more stressed out because I'm not sure I'll be able to make it financially for the next two years or so, without working. I don't want to work, or at least I want to make school my main priority while I'm there.

If you guys were [or are] in a similar situation [single, mid 20's, no debt (at the moment)] what would you expect to need money-wise to pull this off? I'll be living alone.

Basically, if getting back to Canada to study was your biggest short term goal, when would you feel well-enough off financially to say good bye to Korea and hit the books?

Just curious,

Gary.

I'm currently in Vancouver doing the 2-year grad school thing and here are my costs (for 24 months):

Tuition (expensive because I go to a private school): 25 000
Living (rent, food, transportation, health, etc) : 20 000

I had a bit of savings from Korea, a student loan to pay tuition and I also work 10-15 hours a week to pay the rent.

I would estimate 20-25 000/year to be able to live comfortably. Of course, it all depends on how much tuition is and where you are living. You can pay 1000 a month for a small apart in Van. but 400 in Saskatchewan.
