Here's an interesting idea I stumbled across.

An American Foreign Legion....

http://www.geocities.com/~jmgould/americanlegion.html

Does anyone have a link to the article he mentions by Hackworth? All the articles I read on this topic tonight mention it but I can't seem to find it.

This article seems well thought out, but some of the other authors don't seem to know what they're talking about.

I really want to read Hackworth's thoughts.

Not out of any lack of respect for RK Brown, but to broaden my base for thinking about this issue.

The Kevlar and armoured-plating industries might oppose it - the US military would have less need for them.

I'm sure that in the end we'd armor them just as well as we do our own guys.
After all, life is sacred no matter who it is, and lifes that you've paid to train might even be sacred to the US government, although you never know.

Ha ha ha, I wonder how many Americans know how many Brits and others have died in uniform for their 'war on terror'.

Apparently bullets from "friendly fire" hurt less.
