meh.
There's a stage set up at the bottom of hooker hill, and a handful of restaurants set up outdoor stalls. Other than that and a few more Koreans wandering around mumbling "ta-koh?", it's same as it ever was.
Hongdae has a book festival happening, and there is ( was?) a big festival for the stream reopening in downtown. Either one of those might be better |

Had to laugh, was there on saturday and someone was handing out leaflets about it, but only to Koreans. Multicultural festival my hairy bum. |

I wandered through there on Saturday and Sunday, and appreciated everything but the stage.
There are tents where you can get Middle Eastern, Indian, Mexican, Chinese, (etc.,) food for quite cheap. There are little parades of Koreans performing amateur "samulnori" (traditional farmer's music).
Apparently at 2:00 they promise a chef's demonstration, but I haven't caught that. Check it out, why dontcha? |

I had a good hamburger there, and a Turkish Lamb Taco. It was a mild diversion at best. Apparently sunday night there was supposed to be a descent music show. Not sure what but old Demonicat was getting all worked up about it before he fell into a coma. If anyone finds a largish waygook stuffed in a dumpster in Itaewon check his pulse? |

Sounds interesting, but I dont think its worth the 100minutes on the train or the 10,000w just to get there. Hope those who do go enjoy! |

Considering the weekend had... I'm surprised I'm not dead. Without going into details, these things killed me:
Japanese gangsters
Dead kittens
Absinthe
Blunts
40's
bitches
Security guards with kevlar
a 2.5 hour taxi ride for what was a walkable distance.
And a near riot between GI's, Gangsters, and bouncers
but yeah...the world festival was interesting. Just food basically, but worth a look around if you go to Itaewon occasionally. In my opinion it was a chance to try out the various ethnic restaurants cheaply and know which ones to go back too. |

I was the one who nearly got murdered by the Bouncers not you! Worse part is it wasn't even my fault! Though I do thank you for saving me with your timely diplomatic," Sorry Sorry to much Soju makee crazy!" Not in time enough to save me getting punched in the back about 8 times.
Damn that waygook we was with is worthy of a Freakiest Waygook posting, or Stupidest. |

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed by the festival too. Sounds like your weekend was more fun Dan.
But, I did get to Pizza Hut and they had that lovely pumpkin salad. Highly calorific, but delicious. |
