I just got my cell phone bill for this month. W50,000! This seems like an aweful lot to me. How much do you pay a month?

I have an account with KTF....21,000 won regardless of how much i talk or text message.

KTF, 28,000 roughly...in-Korea talking and about 2 total hours a month of calls to North America.

50,000 a month sounds right if you are paying for the actual phone at the same time. The only thing I can recommend is receive more, and make less. Depends on your plan...sometimes you can get free calls to a list of two or three numbers...other times you get a discount if you call the same company prefix(010, 011, etc)...some plans give you 100 or 200 free texts per month...time of day discounts, etc. Definitely limit any international calls that you can and maybe go in with someone to see if you can take a closer look at some plans and maybe make a change.

Do you have SK? I have SK and supposedly they have the best reception/calling quality but it's the most expensive. I don't make a lot of phone calls, but I do text message a lot and my bill is usually about 35,000won. The monthly fee is about 14,500won plus usage, plus any portion of the activation fee you're paying. I found that the best way to keep costs down is text message as much as possible and don't talk for a long time...unless you're receiving the call

I got away with 10,000 W per month mostly--the cost to keep the line active. Just text-messaged more than made calls.
