I'm noticing more and more ways to spend money and get fat in Gangnam... and I like it!
Check out the little Mexican place that has just opened-- if you go out exit 6, it's tucked away about a block before you get to Kyobo Books. I also just noticed a Thai restaurant back near Sarang Church. The gelati place is deadly good. Walking by eight Baskin Robbins in a day is tough enough, but I can't resist this one. |

Kermo I agree with you. That new Mexican place called Dos Tacos is the best Mexican food I've ever had. Fresh ingredients and the guy who owns it used to live in LA so he knows good mexican food. They also opened a new Haggen Daz(Sp?) place right next to the Mexican place. Mmm, I'm glad I don't go over there everyday. |

Yeah the taste was good but you order a quesadilla and pay full price and you get like 1/4 of a quesadilla. It's not that they're using small tortillas... you can see where they've made a medium size quesadilla and cut a half of it out for you (and presumably thrown the other half away b/c you can see it's freshly made for you). |

I meant to include "New York Fries" in the original post, but I hadn't had a chance to visit this place (in Gangnam Station) until this week.
Problematic.
The taters were cooked nicely, but cut too thinly. The "Veggie Works" looked much much cooler on the poster, I'm afraid. The tomatoes were still frozen and dumped atop my poor ol' potatoes, ice chips and all. No dark vinegar is available. If you're looking for a taste of home, this isn't it. |

I'm not trying to discourage business, because the place is a far cry better than many other Mexican places here in Korea, but the best Mexican you've ever had? I've had much better in Norfolk, Virginia, a place that is not known for having a high concentration of folks from south of the border. Hell, I make better Mexican in my own apartment.
If you meant best Mexican restaurant in Korea, it is pretty much dead even with Taco ChileChile (each offers things the other doesn't), and that place is the best restaurant Mexican burrito I've had in Korea. |

It was the best in Seoul. Although, I haven't tried any other Mexican places in Seoul even in Itaewon. I was just raving because they had a mexican place. I have friends who also said the one in Itaewon taco chile chile was better than Dos Tacos. I'll have to check it out soon. |

They're pretty close to each other, actually. Depends on what you prefer on your burrito. |

A successful meal: reasonably priced, good service (couldn't count how many times he filled my water, though he did bring my friend the wrong meal. Twice,) and now I'm too full. I had the Vegetariana (or something) spaghetti. Fresh tasting. The mozzarella sticks were beautifully presented with heaps of sauteed veggies, though the bruchetta wasn't really up my alley.
The place is Italian, and it's upstairs from a eye-glass shop, and it's called P------- Pasta, but I can't remember the word. It's not too far from the aforementioned Mexican place, right on the main drag. It's been open for a month or two. Recommended. |
