I saw this, read it rather in the yahoo news file.

Cindy Sheehan has expressed reservations about the Army being sent into a disaster zone ... imagine if a bunch of white American soldiers had been caught on tape shooting a young balck kid, jeeze, the recoil in the nation at large.

Thanks for the video link, tho. What is not mentioned is that the elderly black man claims he was not intoxicated and it is true that he is an elementary school teacher. Apparently he came up to the cops asking some questions about the neighborhood.

Subject of Taped Beating Says He Was Sober

Frankly, the nature of what is happening, and what has existed in that part of the country for decades, was crying out for a Rodney King sort of incident.

I've met some drunk people in my time and some police officers. I am really not pro police, but be honest! How many times have you heard of a sober person asking a police officer a non aggressive question and being beaten up for it?

Especially now in New Orleans. The whole world is looking there, this can not be another possible LA riot issue. I do not support police violence, but if what he says is true. Americans on Daves, hold down your heads in Shame. American Police must be the dumbest MF alive. These are your police! You or your country people chose them.

I don't believe you are that dumb, so I have to give the police the benefit of the doubt in this case. There is more to this than what we know.

Stupid cops.

1. I know my partner is doing something wrong. I will use my horse to block the camera instead of trying to calm him down.

2. Let's attack an AP producer physically and verbally letting him know how I feel about having that camera rolling. Maybe if I am forceful enough they will destroy the tape of me doing this.

I don't think this compares to King. King got what he had coming to him. This guy did not and I hope he gets to live his retirement in luxury.
