Here's some sound advice>Don't come over if you've got a FAKE degree and/or are planning to teach illegally. It's not worth it. |

The fact that you might get fined and deported. There's been some sort of immigration crackdown against teachers with fake degrees and those teaching privates illegally, over the last few months. Check out other posts on the forum before booking your flight. |

If you really have a real Honours degree, then you should understand the concept of "illegal". Just in case you don't (and it is entirely possible that you don't going by your spelling), it means that it is against the law. If caught, you would be arrested, fined and/or deported. That's what is wrong with it. |

was that supposed to be an insult?> attacking a spelling mistake? and your a teacher? wow? well have u ever blown a yellow light, or rolled a stop sign? thats illegal too. If i can find work then i will prolly take it illegally. maybe you dont want ppl to go illegally becasue they are more likely to get jobs. For the money i am willing to risk teh consquences. i am only going to be there 2 months, not like it is a year or anything. |

That tourist visa makes you an invited guest.
Being a good guest starts with not doing the things your hosts ask you not to. In a foreign country that includes obeying the law. |

The advice to read other posts on the issue is good, although I've often had trouble with the search fuction on this site.
It used to be fairly easy to teach illegally, but there is currently a BIG CRACKDOWN. If you want to be arrested, why come over here to do it when it's easier and cheaper to do it at home?

Mr. Rayneman. No one is trying to be rude to you. They are trying to warn you. If you can't get a legal job, don't do it.
It really is not worth the risk.
But if you want to be put into a detention center, fined and then deported for your trouble.........by all means go for it.
But don't say nobody told you. |

If you're only going to be here for 2 months then I doubt anyone will hire you.... it is illegal to do paid work of any kind here on a tourist visa.
Even if they gave you a working visa sponsorship to work legally, you will not find a temporary job... |

" attacking a spelling mistake?" You flatter yourself... and for someone to come onto a board such as this and to gaily announce to all and sundry that they are going to visit a country with the sole declared intent of breaking that country's laws is an admission of some sort of stupidity.

No, i don't like people breaking the law in such a manner. Sometimes breaking the law is inevitable, but you have openly stated that you want to break the laws of a foreign country, while living in that country. What gall. I was brought up to believe that it is bad to break the law. Your parents seem to have omitted that basic of upbringing. Also, I used to be a policeman, and I used to take great delight in arresting people who deliberately broke the law.

So breaking the law is OK if it's only for a short time? I must have missed that law lecture... thanks.
Come to Korea if you want, but be well aware that you may be arrested. And if you are arrested, don't say you weren't warned. |

OP, you may qualify(legally) for a summer camp at a uni or something similar.
From:
http://www.koreanconsulate.on.ca/en/mnu.php?sn=144
4. Short-term English Teaching Visa
1) Completed visa application form
2) Employment contract
3) Company Registration form
4) Certificate of life-time education facility
5) Camp Schedule
6) Original Degree
7) One recent passport-type colour photo
8.) Passport with remaining validity of at least 6 months
9) Cdn$39.00 visa fee
10) Flight itinerary
I forget what exactly the visa is, but it's either a C-4 or E-7 or something. I can't access the stupid ".immi" or ".moj" web-sites this afternoon for some stupid reason. |

Yes, I understand in NZ.
Where, specifically?
No, no specific reason to ask.
Just curious. |

Actually, no, not in NZ. My family moved to Oz just before I turned 10, and I was a policeman in Queensland from the 10th of July 1989 until the 4th of July 1997 (including training). I worked at Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Beenleigh, Toowoomba and Mackay Police Stations. |
