I just picked up a basic NEC laptop 1.5 Celeron M with 40 gig HD for about 525,000 won new! Legit windows and in an unopened box, with free carrying bag. Not a bad deal compared to what I'd find back home in Korea. 1 year international warranty. Will upgrade the 256 of ram, but that shouldnt cost much. Only has a CD drive, which I can get upgraded by NEC for 75,000 won or so. Will do that this weekend, perhaps, at the service center near here.

Hahhhaah! Yes, that is in general how I feel about Celerons, but for basic stuff like web and word processing, they're cool. |

I am finding that this Celeron is a little better than the old Celeron-based desktop I used to have. I think they increased the on-chip Cache to 512 or 1 meg (not sure which I have yet), which helps a lot over the meager 128 of cache my 1.7 desktop-based chip had.
By the way, I added another 512 M of ram today. |

Debian your new box and enjoy your "paltry" processor without having to pay any mind to these windoze-centric nonsenses.
