Bigger mistake than Dalton was.

This new Bond prospect, Daniel Craig, looks more like a Bond enemy, some cold German corporate militaristic fiend.

Here's the new Bond:

I'd heard Christian Bale was considered. Originally thought it might work, but I just haven't seen a single photo of him where he looked suitably menacing.

Bale could do it. Didn't you see Batman Begins?

I've been rooting for Clive Owen ever since Croupier came out. Craig will be as big of a mistake as Dalton. I only hope they make him dye his hair.

And have you had a look at the plot outline? The big threat is a no-limit game of Texas Hold em?

There just isn't enough time to right all the wrongs in the world, is there.

That Craig bloke was the yaarpie villain in Power of One (1996?) - you'll recall the scene:
"Hey, kafir-lover! You know what 'PK' stands for? Piss-kopf... piss-head."

He's popped up on a few British productions in recent years, nothing memorable.

Ewan McGregor, anybody?

I could imagine that guy that was in "Closer" and "King Arthur" as Bond.

At least Bale looks like a good guy.

The others look more like villains.

Dalton was the only Bond who seemed to have a dark, nasty edge, IMO. And he was the worst Bond.

Clive Owen was the only suitable choice; anyone see him in "Gosford Park"? He had a lot of Roger Moore and just enough Connery to fit the bill.

I will reserve judgement on the latest bond, but none of the Bond films since '77 have been impressive.

Bond is back . . . and he's blonde!?

I will wait till the movie comes out to see how well he does. No point in bashing him now.

sounds like they're taking it back to the original novels- sounds good to me. Casino Royal is a real eye-opener for anyone used to the Bond films- it's very dark and sadistic. Bond in the books is not a particularly nice guy.

There is no way in hell that Dalton was as bad as George Lazenby. No. Way.

#1)Sean Connery
#2)Pierce Brosnan
#3)Roger Moore
#3)Timothy Dalton
#5)George Lazenby

I figure that I have to at least make it a draw between Moore and Dalton, since Moore had so many tries at the role. I've just always hated him. But Lazenby was definitely the worst ever.
