hi,
my girlfriend came up with an idea for a charity garage sale to help pakistani earthquake victims. everyone we've talked to has said it's a good idea and has said they'd donate crap...
she phoned around and was told by people at this church that had a hall that they aren't allowed to have 'commercial' functions, even for charity. i'm assuming there must be some weird law about it.
anyways - we're just wondering where we should start. if one wanted to have a garage/rummage/jumble sale in seoul, where would one have it?
are there legal snags involved that would raise the ire of government or police officials?
we were thinking the USO may be helpful but we're not US citizens let alone soldiers...
as usual any help/advice is appreciated. |

Contact the USO anyway. This is a charity event and I'm sure they'd love the good press. They are always doing things like this. plus they'll throw up ads on AFN and get loads more people involved which will increase the money raised. |
