I know Seoul is famous for it's riots. But I always hear about them the next day, for example the McArthur "demo" in Incheon, or the numerous others that have even gotten on the news back home and my mom emails: "are you okay, I saw on TV...."

So riot-hunters, how do I get ahead of this? I can imagine how word of mouth, Daum cafes and text messages spread this, but I'm always too late.

Where/when will Mr Rumsfeld be here?

go to universities...konkook or dongook are good, or the yank or jap embassy.

if you want to see a REALLY good one, stick around till the first of May and go to city hall. It's where I saw the best riot EVER. be careful though, as these people are pi*sed off, drunk, and don't take kindly to foreigners.

Yonsei University in particular use to be an extremely riot-prone place.. seems like things are quite mellow the last few years though..

I agree with BigBlackEquus. Decide where and when you want to see the riot and then start it yourself. That way, you are guaranteed a front row seat.
