I had a nice wee package deal sewn up with my airfare for my trip to Thailand in a week and a half but have just found out that the hotel is fully booked.
Can anyone recommend a good hotel, not expensive (less than 40,000 won per day) that comes with air con and is close to the sea (preferably within spitting distance actually ) ?
The advice I got from the travel agent was just walk around when you get there and find a place. I wasn't totally keen on this as I don't want to have to drag my luggage around after a long flight and long layover in Bangkok, nor do I want to be walking around on my own in a foreign city late at night with no place to stay.
Any suggestions welcome |

Where in Krabi are you going, and when? Krabi is a province. It includes places such as Ko Phi-Phi, Ko LAnta, Ao Nang, and Rai lay to mention a few popular spots. Krabi town is a good jumping off point for these places but not somewhere you would want to spend your holiday. |

I had been booked into a place in AoNang, right on the beach. That was perfect for me but I don't know what happened because they suddenly decided it was fully booked. I know peak season starts Nov 1, the second day I am there.
I think something strange was happening at the travel agent because they kept lying to me saying that they were waiting for the prices for November to come out even though the websites I visited showed room prices for the same hotel.
Actually I'm totally flexible. I've never been to Thailand so just wanted to try out something different. Don't want to get stuck into the foreigner drinking and partying scene. That's not my style. Just want a relaxing holiday in the sun away from my students |

Can I reccomend Railay? it is one of the most beautiful places I have been in Thailand. There are two gorgeous beaches with limestone cliffs surrounding. I stayed there a few times but never opted for air-con asI found a fan to be fine at night. However, it is isolated and if you're wanting something more than beach time or rock climbing it might not be for you. You can take a long tail boat to Krabi town during the day if you want someshopping time though. Check out www.railay.com as a good primer. |
