As effectively as Babelfish? That would make for some interesting conference calls.

I suspect much better technology is available than Babelfish, but is kept under lock and key. The US military, I'm sure, has already got C3PO droids fully operational. Military research seems to always have been at least 5 years ahead of civilian technology in the US.

making a program that can translate well is only slightly less difficult than making a program that can fully think like a human being. in my opinion.
