				| Hi. I have a question about recommendations/references. I have been teaching in a middle school for the last 11 months. The woman who is my "manager" told me last Friday she doesnt want me to stay for another year. This came as a bit of a surprise. She told me that she had some expectations when I started my job here (that she didnt tell me until last Friday) that were not fulfilled and also she thought I was too much teacher and not enough entertainer. I have been responsible, conscientious, and fairly well organized. Everyone I have told is quite surprised.

I know that I can get good references from other teachers (and two previous hogwans) I have worked with and even from some adult students in a government officials class (part of my job). My question is whether or not those will help and if there is any way I can get a future employer to not talk to her. If they call the school I where I have been working they are bound to talk to her.

Also, I have read elsewhere on the forums about writing your own recommendations. Does anyone have some kind of template for that? I have never done that before and would love to see a sample or get suggestions if possible.

If there is another thread that applies to this, sorry for the redundancy.
 Thanks for your help.
